Letter to President Bush re: Illegal Immigration
A buddy forwarded the following to me...excellent satire!!
An excerpted email to Chris Core, Talk DJ at 630 WMAL Washington DC....
Dear President Bush:
I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this. I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.
Mr. President, I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely. However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.

Came across a collection of maps depicting religious affiliation in the US. Very Facinating.

Immigration Rhetorical Question
You claim that you are not criminals, but if you are not going to honor our laws coming into the country, why should we be inclined to think that you are going to obey them once you are here?

WILLIAMS ON WHY HE DIDN'T SCORE 'SUPERMAN RETURNS'
>>
The latest issue of Spanish film magazine Fotogramas features an exclusive article on Superman Returns, which cites Brandon Routh's resemblance to Christopher Reeve as one of the reasons why John Williams isn't in charge of the score. "I could never have dealt with this score. He [Brandon] reminded me too much of Chris", admits the Maestro.

Mexican Flag Display & Hypocrisy
Just got done reading this article from BREITBART.COM - Protesters Defend Carrying Mexican Flags.
Isn't it kind of ironic that the same people that defend the illegal immigrant demonstrators carrying the Mexican flag because it "represents their culture and heritage" are most likely to prohibit the display of the Confederate Flag because of the very same reasons.

Not a Tame Lion
OK, so I finally saw Disney’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. I picked up the DVD at Best Buy yesterday. After all of the hype in the Christian sub-culture surrounding the “evangelism opportunities” of this movie, I’m kind of glad that I didn’t see it 5 months ago. Truth is there was no overtly Christian message to this movie, unless you knew it was there. If I didn’t know anything of the Bible, then I wouldn’t have thought twice about what I was watching. I would have likened it to Willow or Lord of the Rings. But I guess there’s an opportunity to share with someone afterwards what it was based on.
Well, anyway, the movie itself was beautiful. The scenery and cinematography were excellent. The CG was very well done. You can’t mention the computer graphics and not comment on Aslan. He looked amazing and that was reiterated on the bonus disc featurette on the making of the CG lion. 5+ million hairs. And it took 10 hours to render one frame. One frame! If you’ve ever dabbled even with Photoshop, then you know the kind of work and effort it took to bring him to life.
The story is excellent, of course knowing all of the Christian symbolism and parallels. The only qualm I have is in character development. I would have liked to have seen more direct and personal interaction between the children and Aslan prior to his sacrifice. It seemed that there was more time getting to know the beavers than Aslan. I think then the sacrifice would have carried even more emotional weight. Don’t get me wrong, I felt it, but I was thinking more of Christ than the lion. And not that that’s a bad thing, but within this story (alone), the relationship of the children with him needed to be brought out more.
The acting was pretty good. The girls acted very well, especially the little one, but I thought the boys were a little rough around the edges. Edmond seemed a little uncomfortable and Peter didn’t quite sell the King/Leader role for me.
Well, I shouldn’t complain too much. I’d much rather see Hollywood make these kind of movies than other junk that funnels out of Southern California.
But one last thing: is Santa Claus in the book!?! Ugh.
I give 4 out of 5 manes to The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
